We had a hard walk to fund it but in the end our entire home town donated small to big amounts of money to get our first documentary realized, a piece about the theatre in Neustrelitz and its ongoing, politically encouraged deterioration by Mecklenburg-Western Pomeranian 'social democrats' (long-time governing party) who, in clear favor of the few larger towns in our federal country, tend to unnecessarily cut back everything that makes it worth living in the more rural areas.
Via crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, social media, the regional press, print advertising campaigning, countless calls and mails and a whole bunch of promoting events I managed to collect a sufficient budget to rent camera and sound equipment for nearly two months of shooting in September and October 2015. Thus our MY2C Productions guys were able to follow various protagonists of the theatre ecosystem in rehearsals, in offices and on stage, with their colleagues, their friends and their families, in public and in private.
